Yeah that crashing from steam and deleting a game happend to me for the second time. And then it was lotro to.

But than it worked fine when i downloaded it. And there was no message. The onlything what happend was: it was downloading the files in the lotro launcher and there it gort stuck and nothing happend at al it sais: lord of the rings online (not responding). So i can't give more information then this because there isn't any. And i don't think it is a mac problem anymore mecause my brother with the same mac launcher can play it without any problems.

Firstly, LOTRO updates through its own launcher, not through Steam, so if you were installing something through Steam it must have been a whole new copy of the game. If you already have/had a copy of the game installed through Steam or otherwise that is only partial or failed for whatever reason, that could be causing your problems. I too have never heard of Steam crashing and deleting a game; are you sure that it was actually deleted? It sounds like what is happening is LOTRO is trying to work around files that are already there from the last (failed) install. If it's still not working, I would try to uninstall the game completely, then manually delete any related files (I'm not sure of the exact folder locations on a Mac, but I'm sure that information is readily available via google search).

Then, restart your computer and trying reinstalling fresh through Steam. Finally, is your brother playing on the same type of Mac? His hardware could be better suited to handle a game like LOTRO. We are working under the assumption that you've checked your computer specs against the minimum requirements for this game (or have gotten this game to run on your computer at some point). I have played it before and that file deleting thing i have tried to without any luck.my brother uses the same osx but not the same computer type so there can be the divernce. But i don't know what it is. I checked the minimums of lotro and they where al alright and the launcher freezes at decrypting files so i think there is somethink goeing wrong with downloading it and that my computer rejects some of the necesary stuff.

But i don't think that is it. But thanks for your reply it gives me a lot to think about and to search for. Sady, if you are having decrypt error, then you have one or more corrupt files. Finding which one is almost impossible. One thing I would recommend - forget WiFi - connect via ethernet completely erase and re-download the game.

(See for information on the Happy Cloud file locations. For Steam, simply delete the folder: /Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Lord of the Rings Online Then download it again. WiFi is inherrerntly error prone. It is a far from robust protocol. You don't provide any information on your hardware, and there are many WiFi issues with different Macs - especially MacBooks. Your dowload will go much faster over ethernet than it is possible to do over WiFi - just the nature of WiFi.
